Some implementation ideas

Last week we came up with some game ideas so this week we should do some research into how to implement them. This might help us decide which to go with. If you have a whole nother game idea leave it as a comment in last weeks game ideas post and just let everyone know so they can read it. This post is for comments on what you've found out about implementation and comments on other's research.

TIME FOR A SECOND GAME

I asked everyone on Thursday night to post up at least ONE GAME IDEA EACH by MONDAY so that we can decide which to do NEXT WEEK and start working on it.
SOME THINGS TO THINK ABOUT:
-If we lost marks for anything last time round it was probably not updating our blog enough, and maybe not properly researching our game's implementation (As 4 square apparently doesn't work how we thought).
-Consider using more tech in this game. We are here to learn new things and push ourselves so it might be useful to do something new/challenging given that Hunter had a simple implementation.
-Give everyone's ideas some thought and think of how they could be changed to make them better.

HUNTER

HOW TO PLAY

- This game is played within the limits of Melbourne's CBD.
- It utilises the iphone and the free iphone application '4 square', therefore players must maintain reception to the 3G network.
-Players must remain on foot and must not use elevators or travel upwards except when their location will still be obvious to the other players.
- The 'Target' must update their location at least every 2 minutes (when safely possible)
-The game will last for a period of time agreed on by all players prior to beginning play. (Suggested time around 1 hour)
- Targets are to dress in white, hunters dress in black

WAYS TO PLAY

One on One
- One target is tracked by one hunter
- The hunter wins when they catch the target, they must remove the ribbon attached to the target to win.
- The target wins if they are uncaught by the agreed end of the game

Multiple Hunters
-There are multiple hunters all trying to catch the target at ounce.
-The game is won by the hunter who catches the target first.
-Again the target can win by avoiding capture till the game ends.

-For a larger group the target may have many ribbons worth different scores, the hunter who gets the highest scoring ribbon wins.
-The hunter must allow 2 mins for the target to escape after they have taken a ribbon.
-The mouse stays in play till the end and can still win if their ribbons make their score higher than the combined hunter score.

Have fun!
